4. Fundraising Goals

4. Fundraising Goals

The PTA raises money to support the school to provide extra opportunities and equipment outside limited school budgets. We support the school with both short-term and long-term goals.

Short-term

The PTA has granted funding to the school for a range of small projects including:

  • Musical instruments
  • A shed for the Reception garden
  • Key Stage 1 transition resources
  • Subsidising the Year 6 Leavers' Prom
  • Coronation Fun Day
  • Mental wellbeing resources
  • Books for the library
  • Science workshops for the whole school

Long-term

We have several larger, long-term fundraising goals, for which we are seeking grants and sponsorship as well as fundraising through events.

Poly Tunnel Outdoor Classroom

We believe that appreciating nature and knowing how to grow their own food should be core skills for children. We are proud to support the Fruits For Future project at the school, which includes planting an orchard in the school grounds. We are now fundraising for a poly tunnel large enough for a whole class to use, which will enable children to get out in nature whatever the weather, and enable them to grow more types of food. We also plan to open this up to community groups and other schools to use.

Immersive Classroom

We would like to provide the school with an Immersive Classroom. This will use virtual technology to bring the sights, sounds and smells of an environment pupils are studying into their classroom. Immersive rooms can be used by all age groups across the curriculum, and provide an engaging, multi-sensory experience that helps pupils remember what they are learning long-term.

As an outward-looking school and PTA, we also would like to make the facilities available to the wider community when not in use by children at the school. We therefore want to refurbish the room, bringing in additional facilities such as a kitchen that can be used by pupils, families and members of the community.

This will cost £15,000 - £20,000 including refurbishment into a multi-purpose community room. We are currently fundraising towards this goal and are looking for additional outside investments and grants. If you work for a company that may be able to help, or would be interested in fundraising for this goal, we would love to hear from you.
